Joe Webb goes long and high in 2016!

Super Joe Webb

O2e supporter, friend and legendary cyclist, Joe Webb set himself some monster challenges on the bike at the beginning of 2016.

Joe has achieved some truly extraordinary numbers.

Here’s what he has to say…

‘At the start of 2016, I set myself some cycling Challenges! The main ones being;

  • 10,000 miles
  • 500,000ft of climb

To make it a bit tougher, so it couldn’t all be done in the summer months, I also wanted to complete the 36 Strava monthly cycling Challenges. This morning I completed the last one – December distance. Dead happy with myself!’

What is so admirable about Joe’s achievement is that whilst he is more than comfortable on two wheels, he set targets that would require major commitment, time and effort. Not to mention a level of fitness on a totally new level.

To put it into perspective, Joe’s altitude gain from climbing 500,000 ft is the equivalent to climbing the legendary Alp d’Huez over 440 times!

The distance is the same as;

2 x Tour de France

Race Across America (there AND back!)

Of course, Mr Webb is straight in at the deep end in 2017, taking part in the Skelly400.

Awesome stuff!
