O2e Annual Golf Day

Camberley Heath Golf Club played host to the 5th Annual O2e Golf Day and proved a good test for all players.

Organised by our friends at Source Supplies, 50 players rolled up to enjoy a mainly sunny round of golf that required all the clubs in the bag.

Frank Ilet’s team were first out of the traps and came into the clubhouse with a group score that set a very high bar and looked to be enough to claim the team prize.

Nearest the pin on the 14th.

Mike Wilkinson, an ever-present player on all of the O2e Golf Days thus far, crushed his drive on the tight 3rd hole to win a Ripl Running Top for Longest Drive, pipping his Staff-Finda colleague, Will Hunt.

Dall Cleaning’s Chris Fenn claimed the prize for Nearest the Pin in Two with a sublime second shot that ended up in the cup on the 16th hole. The clouds burst right there but sadly for Chris, the Titleist Golf Umbrella prize was in the clubhouse.

Long time friend of O2e, Jane Emmerson of Get Kids Going charity, joined up with us after 9 holes and stepped up to the 10th tee having not hit a ball since last year’s golf day. Needless to say, class is permanent as she hit her shot right out of the middle of the club and rolled the ball up to the fringe of the green.

Joe Catchesides from Freddie Farmer Foundation was once again in attendance – remember to add the FFF Open Day to your diary on 10th June!

Stableford scores trickled in and it was looking like a mid 30’s would be enough. However, Chris Fenn’s eagle on 16 was clearly representative of his form throughout the day as he scooped the top score of 39 points to take home £100 M&S vouchers kindly donated by O2e’s Lee McGinley and LMG Building Services.

The team prize was scooped by the toilet paper boys from Metsa Tissue and Midland Paper with no less than 7 birdies amongst them. The winning score was 93 points and was enough for them to claim a Footjoy golf polo shirt each for their efforts.

A special mention goes to Byron Friel of Source Supplies who aced the 2nd hole! We’ve never had a hole in one at an O2e Golf Day so next year we’ll be putting a new car as a prize on one of the par 3 hole. Congratulations, Byron. Great shot!

Team Source boys still in shock at Byron’s hole in one!

The day ended with raffle prizes and goodies bags, with lots of generousity shown from Pasture, Vileda and DEB.

Thanks to our hosts, sponsors and participants for supporting the day and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
