Newsletter number 6 is nice and simple this week; just two items.
No mention of the glorious victory by the fantastic Welsh rugby team, no, no.
The main event is the opening of registration via the O2e website for Big Kev’s Bike Ride 2019. This will be the 14th consecutive year for this epic event, having been started by Big Kev in 2006.
O2e’s 14th annual cycling challenge is a two day, 200 mile endurance epic. Setting off from Central London on Thursday morning 12th September we will head down to Newhaven, crossing the South Downs, to take the evening ferry to Dieppe. Friday takes us South East through the Seine Maritime and onwards to our finish at the Grande Arche de la Defense. As always, our participants pay all the costs of staging the event so that 100% of donations go straight to making a difference in the lives of the extraordinary children we help. Come and join us this year and help O2e crash through a total of £2.5m raised since inception.
This year the destination will be PARIS; no more iconic a city! Full details of how to register follow below.

The second item is to wish one of our loyal supporters a speedy recovery.
Tudor “two doors” Evans is one of the Welsh Posse and a long-time O2e supporter, having been on some of the Big Kev rides, done most (if not all) of the Posse big adventures, (first up the Alps last year apparently) and is a thoroughly pleasant chap to boot. Tudor sustained injuries during an unplanned, high speed dismount on tarmac at the weekend. He has had skin grafts to shore up a few scrapes and has bumps and bruises all over but is otherwise remarkably OK and has now been discharged from hospital. Our very best wishes for a speedy recovery to you Tudor and to wife Liz who is putting up with all the moaning.
A timely and heartfelt reminder to all to ride safely at all times. We hope to see you back in the saddle before too long.
Tudor (on the right) and Roger, two of the Posse stalwarts, out for a scamper to test out the Day 2 route for the Posse May Cycling Event. Comments, suggestions, event information, donations, news, photographs; send them to me at dbd60@hotmail.com
Have a great weekend! DDxx
Get your names down and challenge your family and friends to come along too. Open to all abilities, but realistically you have to be able to keep pedalling for a very long time.
