Big Kev’s Ride

Koblenz Germany 2025

Overview

O2E`s 17th Annual Cycling Challenge promises to the best yet. Our luxury 43-seater coaches will be travelling down to Dover from Hull and available for en-route pick ups subject to demand and feasibility. Your bikes will be securely transported in the custom-built trailers carried by each coach.

With the help of some friends, we have managed to secure the best hotels yet, while the use of the coaches and custom trailers allows us to cater for all distance capabilities.

Rafe has worked his magic with the routes.

All for the ridiculously low price of £550

Have a quick read through the details below then be sure to PRESS THE SIGN-UP BUTTON – thanks Kev.

Wednesday 10th September – Crowne Plaza Hotel Antwerp

Those that have not been picked up en-route by the coaches will meet us in Dover and load their bikes & luggage ( one small bag please ) on to the coaches. We will drive (not ride) off the Ferry in France and crack on to Ghent, our starting point for todays ride. The route to the hotel will be 35 miles but anyone who wishes to stretch their legs a little more is of course able to do so. Likewise, anyone that wants to keep fresh for the two big days to come can just stay on the coach to the hotel.

Thursday 11th September – Novotel Aachen

Today we ride to Aachen – an ancient spa city just over the Dutch border in Germany. The full distance will be 100 miles – those of us advancing in age etc can simply load up onto the coaches and will be dropped off en-route for the last 50 miles.

Friday 12th September – Mercure Koblenz

The big one – Aachen to Koblenz, a magical city in Westphalia where the mighty Rhine and Moselle rivers converge. This will be a challenging route but as before those who wish can hop on the coaches and enjoy a 50-mile ride in to one of the most stunning towns you will ever visit.

Saturday 13th September

You’ll have the chance for a well-deserved lie-in and still have time to take in the delights of the stunning city of Koblenz where the Moselle and Rhine rivers join before re-joining the group for the not-to-be-missed After Party hosted by the legendary Kev and Slatts. You will enjoy the unique camaraderie of celebrating your personal success of achieving the distance of your choice with some of the best people on the planet and you will all have just raised a bunch of cash for our deserving causes.

Sunday – 14th September

After a hearty breakfast in our luxurious Mercure, we will load up the coaches with you and your bikes and set off back to the French coast for the ferry back to blighty

The event is entirely funded by the rider entry fee and 100% of sponsorship raised goes to the charities

What We Expect (of You)

The only reason we do this is to raise money for terminally ill and disabled children. Many “charity” bike rides are outsourced to companies and require a minimum sponsorship of 3 to 4 times our entry fee, yet less than half often goes to the charity.

O2e is different – everything is done by volunteers and we cover our own costs. That way every single £ raised in sponsorship goes to the amazing charities we support. Please realise though that volunteers doesn’t equal little effort – this event takes many months of hard work from several people to plan and relies on a huge team of very generous volunteers to donate vehicles/time/fuel in order to run it.

If you raise at least as much as the entry fee in sponsorship, it makes it all worthwhile. Help with setting up sponsorship via Just Giving, Virgin Money, employer match funding etc. is available.

Entry

The trip is run “at cost” and this year’s entry fee is £550 (based on a shared hotel room).
A minimum deposit of £200 is required to secure your space, followed by the balance by the end of June at the very latest.
Please note we require your payments to be able to pay the hotels, ferries and transport company in advance so prompt payment for the event is essential.

………so don’t delay and get signed up. Chat to friends, family & colleagues and get them signed up too.

Let’s make 2025 the BIGGEST fundraising Kev’s Big Bike Ride yet!!!!!!!!!

Please note, all rooms are shared and you are required to arrange your own insurance.
