Launch Night Special – worra belter!

Seven of our 2018 charities with big O2e cheques and big O2e smiles

O2e Launch 2019 was a magnificent event, thank you to all who were able to join us. All eight of our fabulous 2018 charities came along and received a massive £18,000 donation from O2e plus there was a further donation of £8,000 to Get Kids Going in return for support offered during the year. Total donations of £152,000, which will make a huge difference to the lives of terminally ill and disabled children. Give yourselves a massive pat on the back and thank you for all your efforts in raising this huge sum.

Happy smiley peeps from Sparkle as Nick does the honours for O2e More smiley peeps from Sebs Action Trust with Anthony.

All eight charities spoke glowingly of the importance of O2e support in terms of money that will help them with specific projects, from specialist physiotherapy equipment at FFF to repairing the tennis courts at St Elizabeths. From specially adapted equipment for Florries to essential funding to maintain care at ELHAP. And we welcomed royalty to the launch in the form of Mayoress Debbie Kaur-Thiara, who showered praise on O2e for helping to keep ELHAP alive in spite of swingeing cuts in funding from Redbridge Council.

“a huge thank you to all at O2e for your amazing fund raising efforts…”

“We are delighted with your generosity and the level of support you have shown to our staff and our children”

“It is uplifting to know that there are people out there who care so much about the children we support”

35 EVENTS FOR 2019!!

Thrilled to confirm that you have absolutely smashed the 30-event target already, with 35 events in the process of being confirmed for 2019 and some already underway (see next Newsletter). Ex-Chair Slatts McSlatts added to this total with a further 17 blind, “lucky dip” events picked out of the bag by brave volunteers on the night, making the running total 52 events!! There were many highlights amongst the lucky dips, including Granty entering a sportive on a Raleigh Chopper and Joe Webb ironing colleague’s clothes at work for a week. Mrs Webb has suggested you get some practice in Joe!

Caroline emphasised the importance of fund raising and the opportunities for online donations at the press of a button through Just Giving, Virgin Giving and Give.com. We can help you set up your online donation pages – just drop DD a line along with a photo and the event name and we’ll get it sorted.

Master networking supremo Sue encouraged everyone to get friends and family involved in events and in fundraising. Sue herself has organised hugely successful events last year as diverse as long distance walks to quiz nights to art shows and all extremely well attended and very lucrative.

Last but not least, a BIG thank you to Nick who auctioned two coveted tickets to the Ireland versus Wales six nations opener on Friday night (should be a belter) for a cool £500 for O2e. And to Lee McGinley who raised £1,000 in pledges and a further £300 on line during the evening to wax his chest on or before the gala dinner. If you think that’s easy, take a look at his chest : )
